Dealing with Divorce

You may have seen one of those “stressful events” rating scales.  Divorce inevitably is up at the very top, second only to the death of close family.

Even the smoothest, least acrimonious of divorces tend to create a tangle of difficult issues to be dealt with–legal, logistical, and, of course, emotional.  Having the support of a trusted, experienced therapist can be invaluable.

I work with people to help navigate the anger, frustration, disappointment, and guilt that can dominate in the time before, during, and after a divorce.

Reading can be a useful supplement to divorce counseling.  A few suggested titles:

The Good Divorce, by Constance Ahrons

What About the Kids? by Judith Wallerstein

The Journey from Abandonment to Healing, by Susan Anderson
